GTA Hub Installation
BP launched a new business region to explore and develop hydrocarbon resources offshore Mauritania and Senegal, in partnership with Kosmos Energy. As part of the initial development phase, an inshore LNG hub was constructed, featuring a 1.1 km breakwater made of 18–21 concrete caissons. BOA was contracted to transport and float off the caissons using the semi-submersible barge Boabarge 33.
Semar provided the engineering and methodology for the offshore float-off of the concrete caissons. This included the design and analysis of the air bag separation system used to launch the caissons from Boabarge 33, ensuring safe and controlled operations at sea.
